Hello Everyone!
Welcome back! Today I have one last project to share with you from our September Crop. Amanda made these adorable little goodie bags using our clear envelopes and the Country Lane Designer Series Paper. As a thank you gift, we had smile cookies for each attendee. Not our usual, but a fantastic way to give back some more, and have a little treat for everyone!
Aren't they cute? Did you know that each month with Crop Kingston we have a charity of the month? That's right. When I set up Crop Kingston, the idea was to have a monthly crop in the area (at the time, our local scrapbooking store had just closed, and there was not a monthly crop--just a few groups that occasionally ran crops when they could), and we wanted to use it to give back. From the crop fees, we take absolutely nothing for our time. After the expenses (room rental--which thanks to St. Lawrence College, we get a reduced rate, and grab bags), everything else is donated to the charity of the month. Even door prizes we use hostess dollars (or the equivalent of hostess dollars--sometimes they're ordered in advance), to pay for them. September, our charity was Run for the Cure. October, our charity is Ronald McDonald House. Although we like to support local charities (for November our charity is Lily's Place shelter here in Kingston), we also like to take suggestions or support groups that support our clients, friends, and families. Both Run for the Cure and Ronald McDonald House do that! And we even donate 10% of catalog orders or sales from our crafty garage sale!
