Hello!
Welcome back! Today I have a sweet turtle to share with you! I have to admit, as much as I designed this card, the colours are not really me. BUT we all have to get out of our box sometimes! What I do love, is that I had fun using the watercolour pencils to blend multiple colours for this turtle!
To create this card:
Start with a piece of 4 1/4" x 11" Pacific Point cardstock. Score at 5 1/2" to create a side fold card. Cut a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Old Olive cardstock and emboss with the hammered metal embossing folder. Adhere to the card base.
Punch a 2" circle from Shimmery White cardstock. Stamp the Turtle in Memento. Allow to dry fully. Using the watercolour pencils, blend to the desired effect. For instance, for his "tummy", I used Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso, heavier on the brown at the lines, then blended together using an aquapainter (you can use a blender pen too!). I did the same with Old Olive and Early Espresso for his "body" and straight Old Olive for his "back". Colour Basic Grey lightly as the shadow underneath. Allow to dry. Punch a 2 1/4" circle from Pacific Point. Adhere the stamped circle to the Pacific Point circle. Adhere to the card using dimensionals.
Punch a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Story Label Punch. Stamp the sentiment in Pacific Point. Adhere to the card base, slightly tucked under the raised layered circle.
"Sprinkle" on the faceted gems.
I also like to adhere a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White on the inside of coloured card bases to make writing easier (you can decorate this too!).
