Make It Monday - Gardening with Grandpa

Lisa Henderson demonstrator memories paper scrapbook Scrapbooking Stamp & Create Stamp & Create with Lisa Stamp and Create with Lisa Stampin' Up! Stampin' Up! Canada stamps

Hello Everyone!

It's been far too long since Make It Monday!  First we had all the fun of the holidays, went to see Lumina Borealis at Fort Henry (which was great--just try and pick a "warm" day!), and then we spent day after day with the stomach flu going from one of us to the next.  Lots of (non) fun!

Today I have a layout I did to share with you.  I had a video--I shot it live while I was creating--AND I had the volume off, so you can't hear a thing.  So no video (sorry!).  But I still have a layout.  I used a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

When I'm scrapbooking I quite often like to start with a sketch.  It helps speed the process up for me.  This is the layout that I ended up with:

Although not my favourite layout, I'm still pretty happy with it.  And our new punch?  My favourite!  And quite honestly, I am thrilled that this layout is scrapbooked, in a timely manner (the photos are from November--that's pretty amazing for me!), and the memory of my son and my father gardening in November is recorded!

To make this layout:

1.  Use the 12x12 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock as your base.

2.  Punch several (at least 7 of each colour) of the modified diamond shape.  Layout and adhere on your page, leaving a small narrow margin between each.  Try to keep the margin the same width all along.

3.  Stamp "You're a fox" on a smaller piece of Very Vanilla in Early Espresso and punch out.

4.  Punch and assemble the fox using the Designer Series Paper.  Use 2 rhinestones for eyes.

5.  Cut a 3/4" wide x 12" strip of the Designer Series Paper and adhere across the bottom of the layout.

6.  Trim the photos to 3" x 3" and adhere to the page.

7.  Stamp the title in Early Espresso using the Brushworks Alphabet stampset.  Adhere the fox to the page and the punched sentiments (use dimensionals for the punched sentiment),

8.  Scatter rhinestones.

And that's it!

Thanks for joining me!

Enjoy!
