Make It Monday with Crafting Forever

Lisa Henderson Crafting Forever Make It Monday paper Stamp & Create Stamp & Create with Lisa Stamp and Create with Lisa Stampin' Up! stamps

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the second Make It Monday!  Today I am sharing a card that we are making in card class this week.  It is a case, but I unfortunately can't find the original.  If it's yours, please let me know so that I can give credit!

Crafting Forever is a stampset that I received at CentreStage as a perk for being a Silver Elite (or above) demonstrator!  And I thought it was cute but wasn't sure how I would use it.  Until I saw that saying.  Crafting Forever!  Housework Whenever.  I hate housework!  So this saying is for me!

To make this card:

1.  Take a piece of the Berry Burst Cardstock that is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".  Score at 4 1/4" and fold in half.  This makes your card base.

2.  Take a piece of watercolour paper and cut it to 4" x 5 1/4".  Using the scoring blade on your trimmer, or a score tool, score it at 1/4" & 1/2" on each side of the paper.  Next, stamp the paint brushes and the sentiment in Basic Black Archival ink.

3.  Once the stamped images have dried, it is time to start watercolouring!  To get colour, squeeze the inkpad to put ink on the lid.  Once you have opened it up, add a few drops of water to the lid using your aquapainter and mix with the ink to create your watercolour.  colour in the image using the aquapainter, adding layers of ink to create shadowing and depth.  I used the following colours: Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, and Tranquil Tide.  Once the image is coloured, use Smoky Slate to outline the image and create a shadow.  I also created a wash (moving the brush around full of colour) over the sentiment using the Lemon Lime Twist.

4.  Adhere the watercolour paper to the front of the card in the centre.  I also like to adhere a blank piece of white cardstock on the inside of the card (it just makes writing in the card easier).  If you do this, I like to use a piece of Whisper White Cardstock that is 4" x 5 1/4"

And that's it.  One quick tip, I use a dry kleenex to clean out the lids of the ink pads when I am done watercolouring.  Personally, I don't want that water on my ink pad!  Ok, a second tip, in between colours, run your aquapainter on a scrap of paper until it runs clear.

Hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial!  Any questions, please let me know!

Enjoy!
